Mr. Bellamy joins the faculty from Louisville, Kentucky where he has enjoyed 25 years as an educator and athletic director. Mr. Bellamy holds a Master of Science Degree in Secondary Education from Indiana University and a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Eastern Kentucky University.
Mr. Bellamy has successfully coached basketball, baseball, and football for K-12 students. In 2011, Mr. Bellamy pioneered a groundbreaking initiative within his school district, establishing the first Middle School Sports Hubs as the first full-time Middle School Athletic Director in the district. This transitioned him from coaching students to coaching coaches. He uses a “coach the coach” model that has led to him mentoring over 20 coaches, many of whom now hold leadership roles in their schools.
Mr. Bellamy’s leadership has earned him awards including the 2023 Outstanding Middle School Athletic Administrator of the Year (Kentucky Athletic Administrator Association, Region 5-8), 2022 Athletic Director of the Year (Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS), and 2015 JCPS Middle School Athletic Director of the Year.
Mr. Bellamy is deeply committed to community service, supporting scholarships and initiatives through his fraternity, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated.
