An Atlanta native, Ms. Levy briefly left the south to attend Miami University of Ohio where she earned degrees in Elementary and Special Education. She holds a Georgia professional teaching certificate and began her career teaching in the public school system.
Ms. Levy found her home at AJA in 2004 teaching in the M’silot program. In addition to teaching second and third grade M’silot over the years, Ms. Levy has been a fourth grade General Studies teacher and a grade level academic support specialist. She is passionate about teaching kids to read and guiding them to develop strategies for success along with self-advocacy skills. As an educator, Ms. Levy believes it is her privilege and responsibility to guide learners to seek knowledge while helping them discover their strengths and overcome challenges. She believes in creating a safe, nurturing environment that promotes having a growth mindset so that students keep reaching for their "aha!" moments.
