Born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Mrs. Lefkoff moved to America with her family in 1992. When she was 12, her family moved again from Peoria, Illinois, to Duluth, Georgia. Mrs. Lefkoff attended The University of Georgia and received her bachelor's degree in English Education in 2007. After graduating from UGA, Mrs. Lefkoff worked for the Fulton County school system from 2007-2014, where she was the 9th Grade Team Leader, Yearbook Advisor and a nominee for Teacher of the Year.
Mrs. Lefkoff has been a 7th and 8th Grade English and Language Arts teacher at AJA since 2015. During her time in the classroom, Mrs. Lefkoff helped students become literary experts through use of Socratic Seminars, project based learning, and weekly grammar and SAT vocabulary study. She also helped create the 8th Grade Leadership and Ambassador Program in which students raise money for various causes, help with retention events, and lead student activities around the school. Jigsaw, the award winning Middle School magazine, was also sponsored by and created with Mrs. Lefkoff’s guidance and has grown to become a Middle School staple.
Mrs. Lefkoff has also mentored several teachers as they entered Middle School and served as Grade Level Coordinator.
Mrs. Lefkoff recently earned her certification in Digital Marketing as well as Gifted Learning. She has two children, Mila and Jonah, who attend AJA, and her husband, Steven, was a 1999 graduate of GHA. Above all, she is invested in the school and is excited to see it grow to become even stronger and better every year.
