Athletic Department Philosophy

Atlanta Jewish Academy emphasizes the value of each individual and respect for others. Participating in AJA’s Athletic Program represents an important part of school life.

It is the philosophy of AJA to attempt to balance playing time for each child as much as possible while fostering a healthy sense of competition and sportsmanship. The Middle School A-teams and the High School teams are more competitive and are run accordingly. Players are selected to play in a game according to skill, attitude, attendance at games and practices, effort, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, and acceptable grades and conduct. In the Middle School, AJA Jaguars compete against schools of similar size and skill through the Metro Atlanta Athletic Conference (MAAC). The High School is a member of Georgia High School Association (GHSA).
