Melissa Benski comes to Atlanta Jewish Academy from New York University. Experience in college admissions, school counseling, and teaching have made her passionate about helping young people successfully navigate their journey toward college, career and the world beyond. She got her start in college admissions at her alma mater, Loyola University in Maryland, where she worked as an Admissions Counselor before transitioning to High School based work. Melissa worked as a high school English and ESL teacher in New York City before taking a break to pursue her Master’s Degree in School Counseling at Hunter College.
After some time focusing on school counseling, she made the transition back to admissions, this time at New York University. Melissa just completed her sixth year on staff at NYU. As an Associate Director, she managed the admissions process for four of NYU’s ten undergraduate colleges.
