Chiamaka Osegbu was born in Lagos, Nigeria, and immigrated to the United States with her mother, brother, and sister when she was five years old.
She was raised in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, and Wilmington, Delaware. Chiamaka attended the University of Delaware where she earned a bachelor's degree in Human Services. Upon, receiving her first teaching position through substitute teaching during undergrad, she attended Relay Graduate School of Education, Wilmington campus, where she earned a master's degree in Elementary Education. Chiamaka is currently a doctoral student at Capella University, pursuing an Ed.D in Educational Leadership. Chiamaka will be starting her 6th year of teaching joining the Atlanta Jewish Academy family. Chiamaka has an energetic and feisty 4-year-old daughter, who relocated to Atlanta, Georgia with her a year ago. Chiamaka enjoys praise dance, yoga, reading, hiking, tending to her plant babies, and finding new places to discover food and live music. She hopes to bring her joy, passion for learning, and love for Math and Reading to each student everyday.
