Head of School

Dear AJA Students, Parents, Faculty, and Staff,

Welcome to our newly renovated AJA website! We are excited to share this digital window into the heart and soul of our very special and unique educational community.

Our school and by extension our website reflects our commitments to:

  • Academic Excellence

  • Spirituality plus Foundational Torah Knowledge and Values

  • Passionate Zionism and Hebrew Language Fluency

  • Committed Citizenship

  • Moral & Ethical Development

AJA is a palpably vibrant and warm incubator where traditions are honored, minds are enriched, and hearts are nurtured. Adults in this space forge fast and deep relationships with the children who learn quickly that our staff truly care to get to know them as individuals. We offer a one-of-a-kind dual curriculum that combines rigorous general studies with a thorough exploration of Jewish traditions and values, a love of Israel, and demonstrably effective Hebrew immersion.

Thank you to those of you already at AJA for being a part of the AJA community, and a warm welcome to those of you coming to visit these digital pages to explore what AJA has to offer. While this website is our digital home we insist that y’all find the time to visit us in our building on our campus so that you can feel the warmth for yourselves. Our doors are open and we hope you will benefit from what we hope will be a “diapers to diploma” association with Atlanta’s longest running formal educational commitment to the Jewish future.

Warm regards,

Rabbi Avi Levitt

Head of School

Rabbi Levitt brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience. We are confident that with Rabbi Levitt at the helm, together with the unwavering support of our dedicated community, this is a golden opportunity for AJA to reach great heights of achievement, excellence, and community spirit. Our faith in our school's resilience and adaptability, coupled with Rabbi Levitt's dynamic leadership, promises a bright future.

Rabbi Levitt holds a BA in Mathematics from Harvard University, an MA in Mathematics Education from Teachers' College at Columbia University, an MA in Bible from Yeshiva University, and Semicha from Rabbi Aharon Ziegler at Kollel Agudath Achim in Brooklyn, NY.

As Rabbi Levitt shared with us: Our day schools bear the critical responsibility of fostering the growth of our Jewish future and AJA will continue to play exactly that role for the Atlanta community. Ensuring that our children have the best environment in which to develop emotionally, religiously, socially, and academically will serve as a beacon for our decision-making in the upcoming years at AJA.
