After School Programming
Spring Semester 2018
Club Kef is an after school program offering semester long classes or same day sign-ups for students one years old through 8th grade.
Club Kef runs everyday there is a full day of school.

Late Pick-up & Homework Club at AJA:*

Monday - Thursday
3:35 - 4:15
$5 per day

 

Early Childhood Department

Late Pick-Up
Children will stay with the Club Kef teachers during this time. They will have snack and playtime with all of their after school friends.

 

1st to 8th Grade

Homework Club
A daily snack will be provided and a teacher will be on staff to assist students with their homework. Homework Club is a supervised environment where teachers are there to assist and oversee students as they do their homework. We cannot provide specialized tutoring during this time. Games, art supplies and other activities will be provided if a student does not have homework.
Same day sign-ups must be in by 12:00 pm.
*Students picked-up after 4:15 pm will be charged the full Club Kef rate of $20 per day.

 

Club Kef's Daily Schedule:*

Mondays - Thursdays

  • 3:30-4:00 - Snack Time & Homework
    Nutritious snacks are provided each day, as carrots and hummus, a variety of fruits to select from, cheese sticks, veggie straws and more.
    There will be a teacher on-duty assisting students with their homework.
  • 3:45-4:45 - Class Time
    Select a semester long class or sign-up for Club Kef Hang-Out.
  • 5:00-5:30 - Free Play, Homework & Pick-Up Time
    During this time students will have the opportunity to complete their homework. If they do not have homework they will have lots of things to choose from, as art supplies, cards, board games or going to play on the playground. Parents can pick-up their children from the Imagination Playground / Glass Commons anytime between 5:00 - 5:30.

  • One Year OldsOpen or Close

    One Year Olds

    The fun doesn't have to end at 3:30!
    Students below two years old are invited to stay in their classroom until 5:35 pm. The fun activities are carried on, as dance parties, story time, buggy rides, playground time and snack.
  • Two's and Three'sOpen or Close
    Club Kef will use their magic curriculum to inspire and excite growing minds. Each afternoon will be filled with science experiments, cooking, art, playground time and snack time. We know parent's schedules vary so children can be picked up any time from 4:00 - 5:30.
  • Pre-K, Kindergarten and 1st GradeOpen or Close

    Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten and 1st Grade

    MONDAYS

    COOKING CLASSES
    Cooking can help young kids learn and practice some basic math concepts and build language skills. The experience of creating meals with kids helps build their self confidence and lay the foundation for healthy eating habits. When you read the recipe together you are often introducing new words to your child's vocabulary and promoting literacy. Following the steps in the recipe also works on their listening skills.

    PLAY IS THE PERFECT ENVIRONMENT IN WHICH TO LEARN. Not only will you get the best in Playball, but your child will experience the newer realms of creativity. Join us and build strong bodies and sound minds through play with Playball!

    NEXPLORE GAMES
    Nexplore Games is an innovative program that uses strategic game play to teach students how to think, rather than what to think. The Nexplore Games mission is to use award-winning selection of mind and strategy games from all over the world to teach a vast array of 21st century skills, addressing logic/reasoning, social, emotional, study skills, values, leadership, communication, environment, mathematics, reading/language arts, economy and entrepreneurship.

     

    BALLET
    The aim is to promote a fun, healthy, creative and educational learning environment. Our program benefits students by instilling an understanding of community, respect, and self-awareness. We are dedicated to providing quality dance education for all! We have professionally trained and very experienced teachers who make the experience AMAZING for all the kids - BOYS and GIRLS

    Mixed Media Art with Robyn Rousso
    Robyn Rousso is an award winning designer, published Illustrator, well known Atlanta artist and has been teaching art for over 25 years. Join Robyn for a mixed media adventure in exploring clay, canvas painting, pastels and water color. Children will learn how to paint, guided through the skills of the impressionists to whimsical modern artists. Different techniques will be implemented using polymer clay, collaging, watercolors and pastels.
    Save The Date: Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 4:45 pm will be an art show displaying the fabulous creations made throughout the semester.

     

    Ninja Warrior Challenge
    This is a fabulous outdoor activity, which promotes well-being and physical development. Kids are naturally drawn to playing outside and there are numerous benefits to outdoor play: it allows them to explore their environment, develop muscle strength and co ordination, and gain self confidence. Playing outdoors also increases flexibility, fine and gross motor skills, and is related to the development of a wide variety of physical skills, including those involved in other sports.

    SCIENCE
    Nexplore Science programme is built upon inquiry, experimentation and play. Students will dive deep into various scientific concepts such as electricity, inventions, sound energy,physics, light, nature, earth sciences and more!. Each class teaches fundamental scientific ideas to children through hands on play and activities. Each student will receive their own ScienceWiz kit to explore throughout the course. Students will experiment, investigate and build understanding from dynamic weekly activities.

    Hip Hop with Expressions in Motion
    In this high energy hip hop dance class, students will learn the fundamentals of this increasingly popular dance form. Class emphasizes rhythm and style, personal expression, choreography, basic strengthening and conditioning and having fun!

    CHESS with COACH DAMIR
    Chess is run by Damir Studin. He was the 2009 and 2013 Georgia Chess Champion and a National Chess Master which ranks him in the top 99.7% of all chess players in the United States. The main focus for Chess is keeping the game fun for children while teaching them the fundamentals. They will learn lessons that are important in life, such as sportsmanship, problem solving, critical thinking, concentration, patience, attention span and other skills.

    SEWING
    Our Sew Exciting class will tap into your child’s creativity, individuality and talent as a fashionista! Students will learn how to find their own artistic style as they learn the basics of sewing and working with fabrics and textiles. Each class will be an exciting creative journey. There are many elements to Sewing and students will work on understanding, hand sewing skills, planning and design, and general crafting skills.

    5th - 8th Grade

    Club Kef Hangout
    Grades 5-8
    Club Kef Hangout is a supervised environment where students can throw the football around, shoot some hoops, work in the LLC or simply catch up with some homework. It is open each day until 5:30 and snacks are provided.

Toco Hills Bus

Toco Hills Bus is available to take Club Kef students to YITH Mondays - Thursdays. The bus leaves AJA at 5:15 PM and should arrive at YITH at 5:50.
